Fresh Perch Limited commenced its commercial operations in the year 2010, under the leadership of its dynamic visionary Mr. Saju Thankappan. Since then within a short span it became one of the leading exporters of Nile Perch from Uganda, marketing its products in the European, Far East and Middle East markets providing superior products to our clients.

 

Natural: The raw material is caught from the pristine waters of Lake Victoria, second largest fresh water lake in the world. Fishing practices in Lake Victoria, One of the world’s largest inland fishery, are more over artisanal subsistence fishery using traditional fishing methods. This is further sustained by continual training of fish suppliers, fishermen and workers to ensure increased and sustainable fish production by managing capture of Lake Victoria Perch by adopting legal gears for fishing. 

Extensive trainings provided to the supporting staff ensures the proper icing of the catch as a result significant reduction in post harvest losses ensures our commitment to sustain the fishery.

Our trained processing staffs is committed to sustain this natural resource by effective utilization of the fish caught by achieving maximum production yield, reduced wastage, proper waste management and there by reducing the post harvest losses to bear minimum.

Our commitment and social accountability help the future generation to enjoy and exploit one of the best fishery resources in the world without any significant depletion of the stock.

 

Fresh: Freshness of the product is a fine attribute of the commitment from the entire niche of the cold chain. It’s achieved as a result of vertically integrated control processes which start from fishermen to the processor. Fresh Perch Ltd provides the basic infrastructure and training to enhance the knowledge for effective utilisation of all the resources involved in the chain.

Our ice production capacity of 60 tonnes ensures supply of adequate ice to the fishermen & icing of the fish in insulated trucks from all our collection centers spread across the Ugandan shorelines of Lake Victoria. The raw material is inspected and the selected fish is washed at the centers, packed in insulated boxes with ice and transported in a fleet of insulated, refrigerated vans to the processing plant.

Processing facility with daily capacity to produce 30 tonnes of finished product and storage capacity of more than 350 tonnes ensures maintained cold chain and hence production of a fresh product.

Our well trained personnel guarantee the temperature is maintained in the whole process line to ensure the best product is delivered to the culinary plates of the end user.
